Doug Ingoldsby and Jeff Pevar performed a house concert at our home on June 10, 2000.

We're still thrilled that Doug Ingoldsby agreed to be our guest and perform wonderful songs as part of our house concert series. Doug's fabulous 1999 album Can't Do This Alone is one of our very favorite albums of the past few years. Doug performed an amazing couple of sets, featuring songs from his album, along with his band featuring Jeff Pevar (guitar - from David Crosby's band CPR), Jesse Siebenberg (percussion - son of Supertramps's drummer Bob Siebenberg), and Tammy Gillispie (backing vocals).

It's not Kenny Loggins' fault that it took Doug Ingoldsby nearly 30 years to start writing songs. The two have been friends since both attended Pasadena City College in the late 60s. Back then, they played in a duo called Ingoldsby & I--Loggins didn't even have top billing! While Loggins went to pursue a career in music, Ingoldsby followed a different path.

It wasn't until 1995, when enrolled in a workshop led by Jim Messina, the folk-rock pioneer (Buffalo Springfield, Poco) and Loggins' former partner in Loggins & Messina, that Ingoldsby began composing his own material.

Twelve of Doug Ingoldsby's compositions are collected on a new CD called Can't Do This Alone. The songs examine various aspects of relationships, including dependence, separation, attachment and, most notably, friendship. Graham Nash was so impressed with one Ingoldsby songs that he wrote a bridge for the song and was about to include it on the new CSN album when Neil Young showed up and bumped it.

Musical and vocal guests on Doug Ingoldsby's album include Kenny Loggins, Jimmy Messina, David Crosby, Jeff Pevar, James Raymond, Anastasia & John, Randy Tico and Jesse Siebenberg, among others. If you haven't heard this album yet, you owe it to yourself!
