Freebo first performed at our home on November 7, 1998. He was accompanied by Stevie Gurr on guitar.

On November 7, 1998 FREEBO performed an especially entertaining show before an intimate and appreciative crowd. One of rock's original fretless bass players, Freebo actually plays several instruments quite proficiently -- among them, the tuba, guitar and mandolele. Freebo has been in the studio and on stage with Bonnie Raitt, John Mayall, Maria Muldaur, Crosby Stills & Nash, Aaron Neville and Ringo Starr among many others. Freebo's bass playing, as well as his background vocals and occasional tuba parts have adorned over a hundred records, including Muldaur's smash multi-Platinum single "Midnight At The Oasis," all of Bonnie Raitt's early gold albums, and tracks for over a dozen other notable artists and bands. He has made television appearances on "Saturday Night Live," "Midnight Special," and "Muppets Tonight!"

Freebo's new pop/rock CD The End Of The Beginning (Poppabo Music, 1999), showcases a variety of musical styles and Bass Player Magazine called Freebo's disc "a collection of great-feeling songs spanning styles from country to reggae to second-line horn driven rock."

For our House Concert, guitarist extraordinaire Stevie Gurr accompanied Freebo. Stevie is best known for his work with Dr. John's band. Be sure to visit Freebo's Web site at www.freebo.com.
